Take Your Pet to Work Week – A Dog’s Dream, A Human’s Delight

We’ve always believed life is better with a dog by your side—whether you’re out on the farm, behind a desk, or brewing the morning cuppa. That’s why Take Your Pet to Work Week speaks to us on a deeper level. Because to us, dogs aren’t just companions—they’re part of the team.

If you’re lucky enough to work in a place that welcomes wagging tails, we say take full advantage. Let your dog stretch their legs, lift the mood, and perhaps even sit in on that 9am meeting (we’ve heard they’re great for team morale).

And we’re not alone. Pet parents have reported that having dogs in the workplace boosts happiness (58%), relieves anxiety or stress (57%), encourages healthy breaks (55%), and supports more social interaction (52%).Turns out, dogs make pretty great colleagues.

Four Paws, One Purpose – The Farmer’s Dog Way

Our story began with Stanley, our beloved family dog, darting through fields at Elston Farm, chasing pheasants and keeping us company day in and day out. When we switched him to a raw diet and saw how he flourished, it didn’t just spark an idea—it built the foundation of everything we do today.

So yes, we believe dogs absolutely belong at work. They've been by our sides for centuries as shepherds, gamekeepers, farm dogs, and now, the unofficial office ‘wellbeing officers’ in modern workplaces. Wherever people work, dogs fit right in.

A Day to Celebrate the Simple Things

Take Your Pet to Work Day isn’t about fancy hashtags or curated photoshoots. It’s about celebrating the simple joys—a gentle nudge under the desk, a tail wag at tea time, and the kind of loyalty you can’t put into words.

And let’s be honest—most meetings are better with a dog in the room. They don’t interrupt, they never talk over anyone, and they’re always ready for a walk when you need to clear your head.

Dogs Need Proper Fuel

Whether your dog is busy chasing rabbits or simply snoozing under your desk, what’s in their bowl matters. At The Farmer’s Dog, we make real, raw food just as nature intended.

Each chub is made on our Devon farm, using British, human-grade meat, and packed with the slow-release energy dogs need to get through their day, just like Stanley did all those years ago.

It’s all about giving your dog food that suits their body, not just their taste buds. When dogs eat in line with how they’re built, they’re better fueled for daily energy, long-term health, and a lifetime of vitality. Because a well-fed dog is a happy, healthy dog—at home or on the job.
